Biography
DJ Clarknova is the alias of Toonami founder Jason DeMarco. In 2001, he produced the Toonami: Deep Space Bass album recorded by Joe Boyd Vigil, composer for Toonami's score from 1999 through 2002.
In 2003 there were plans for a follow-up album to be released, entitled Toonami: Black Hole Megamix. DJ Clarknova took Toonami's beats (both old and new) and mixed them with sound bytes from both Toonami and Adult Swim programs, resulting in an hour-long compilation, but due to Deep Space Bass's low sales, along with several other factors, the album was never officially released. However, the 21-track compilation was officially leaked and released for free on The Toonami Digital Arsenal, a popular unofficial Toonami fansite.
DJ Clarknova was also involved with another Toonami album, entitled Toonami: Supernova Megamix. It was released on Christmas Eve 2012 as a free download through the official Toonami tumblr. The Supernova Megamix was mixed by Skull Island, a duo composed of DJ Clarknova himself and musician Brent Busby. Among other tracks, the album included voice acting outtakes from Peter Cullen and Steve Blum, as well as a remixed version of Com Truise's Brokendate.
