arlie’s second released single “Didya Think” is both a call for courage and hard work yet also a deriding critique directed at a common type of lazy attitude in this day in age. This behavior can be described as a dreamer with high hopes and talks a big game, but ultimately because of a lack of serious innate motivation and personal accountability, their desires to attain a life of wonderful unconventionality evidently fall short of reality. The song shows the hypocritical flaws behind the dreamer that always flakes by putting off beach trips and girlfriends in a sacrifice for their work, only to fall victim to a vicious cycle of procrastination and distractions. Arlie’s message of unending persistence and effort to truly achieve one’s dream can be seen as both a wake up call to those finding themselves in a similar situation and also a warning to those who are vigorously pursuing the non-conforming lifestyle but are weary of falling into this similar trap of talking the talk yet not walking the walk.
