I think they actually managed to combine their older and newer sounds on here pretty succesfully, hard to imagine that this same lineup had released "Open Your Eyes" just couple years back (although i do enjoy that album too). As often seems to be the case, this album is simply way too long, but it is still very impressive and enjoyable.

This is a really good album, and I particularly like the strong second half, which is a lot less produced than the first half and has a classic 70s sound. "New Language" is one of their best.

This isn't bad and neither is Drama. The mastering is terrible though. Some songs are definitely better than others.

To be perfectly honest, this is a very poor attempt at creating an album in the style of their golden age. They happened, and they're done. Leave them alone. Talk and Keys to Ascension are great albums, and after this Magnification would bring them back to greatness, with the orchestra adding a new twist. But this is down with Union and Drama as among their worst.

By the way, I love "The Ladder" and I really dislike "Magnification"... opinions are opinions...

Not quite the Yes of the 70s but more than a few very nice, uplifting songs here.

The symbols represent each member, a-la-Led Zeppelin IV. A decent album, the second half of "Finally" is about as Yes as you could hope for circa 1999.
