Their discography is hit and miss, but the hits are moments of true brilliance. Dread is one of the greatest albums I've ever heard.

I saw them two nights ago in Detroit, and, to my ears, they sounded just as good as they did 14 years ago when I saw them as a duo in Chicago for the first time.

I just saw these guys for the first time in 4 years. They were all wearing cut off denim jackets, sunglasses and black metal patches, and instead of a saxophone there was a skateboard. It was impeccable.

Anyone catch them in Chicago earlier this week? I was pretty disappointed that every single fucking track was set to a backbeat. Where'd the one string guitar and TABLES FULL OF CRUNCHY ELECTRONICS go? They somehow managed to make their music even more nihilistic - I didn't think that was possible, and I they did it in the worst way: deep bass grooves and 2 dudes dicking around on a noise box and a guitar. THESE GUYZ HAVE REALLY CHANGED, MAN.

You should check out Vacuum, Intrusion and Back To Attack then. Honestly, I think Wolf Eyes are not that harsh compared to a lot of noise (still kinda new to the genre though), and generally more ambient but those releases are quite unsettling and volatile out of most of their discography. For me, Burned Mind is probably has the best contrast between being harsh and ambient, hopefully that's what you were looking for!
