Wild Colonials were a band based in LA during the 90s. Fronted by Angela McCluskey's distinctive voice, the band also included violinist Paul Cantelon, guitarist Shark, multi-instrumentalist Scott Roewe, and drummer Thaddeus Corea. They released two studio albums, Fruit of Life (1994) and This Can't Be Life (1996), as well as a collection of soundtrack contributions and covers called Reel Life, Vol. 1 (2000). Numerous other musicians joined the band on their recordings, including Jon Brion, Tony Berg, Rickie Lee Jones, Cyndi Lauper, Dr. John, and Shudder to Think. Their music combined folk-rock and world music influences with eclectic indie rock.
