“Love Back” is Why Don’t We’s first single following their sophomore album "The Good Times and The Bad Ones". The track serves as an ode to an ex, reflecting on the heartbreak that occurred. Whilst teasing the song, Why Don’t We asked fans to send the song lyrics to their exes, with band member Daniel Seavey doing it himself!
In July 2021, Why Don’t We began gearing up for their new era, sharing a snippet of an unreleased song on social media. The snippet was first revealed via TikTok, with band members posting individual videos teasing the track.
In Jonah Marais' promotional video, he wrote:
"We made this song about trying to move on. Trying to convince our management that it needs to come out ASAP."
