Biography

Waves of Change was: Shane Ricci - Drums; David Swafford - Bass; Cameron Smith - Keyboard/Vocals; Max Heckel - Guitar; Ryan Syler - Vocals.

After the break-up of Acid Outfit, the members went their separate ways and began working with other bands and doing solo work. However, none of this came to fruition, and in the summer of 2007, Shane, Cameron and David got back together to play and work on new material.

Shane wrote many new songs and Cameron and David came up with music for them, although without a guitarist, the songs came off too low, with drums and bass dominating the softer keyboard. The group decided to start the search for a guitarist, first calling Penn up. Penn was unable due to personal reasons, and the band began scouring the local music scene for a suitable guitarist. They soon came up with Max Heckel, a fellow student at Cameron's school, and the group began laying down guitar tracks for the songs they had created.

After the creation of many instrumentals over the course of a year, the band was invited to play a party for a friend in May 2008. At this party, Ryan Syler saw the band play and was impressed, afterwards inquiring about the band's need for a vocalist. All the members agreed to hear Ryan sing and were very happy with what they heard, so he was invited to join the band.

After lyrics were put to a few songs, they were given to David to be mixed and thus was born the Face to Face EP. The album artwork was done by Max with input given by Shane and Cameron, and then a small banner was printed to help promote the band.

Unfortunately, in August 2008, both Ryan and Max were forced to leave the band to return to college, and David began a full-time job downtown while he attended college. Shortly thereafter, the band officially split up so that Shane and Cameron could also focus on schoolwork, though David, Shane, Cameron and Max (when he was in town) would still play together every couple of weeks.

This continued until July 2009, when Shane moved to Colorado.
