Seems this was meant as a transition album. From electronic sourced sound to more acoustic. A transition that didn't happen, because the next album was pretty much back to knobs. Maybe playing drums with the Vladislav Delay Quartet and the Moritz von Oswald Trio fulfilled some needs he had. So Tumma stands kind of alone in the Vladislav Delay discography. I wonder why it is so overlooked or rated low (rated the lowest on RYM). Too many acoustic sounds for his usual listeners? Not enough white noise or dub? Some of the tracks would have made a nice soundtrack to the movie "Under the Skin", especially Toive (those slow marching-like drums). Probably my favorite soundtrack and I wouldn't want anything missing or replaced there, but it would have worked.
