Villain of the Story is a 5 piece band based out of Minnesota that was put together from the minds of Sam Fassler (We are the Blog! / Insomniac) and Andrew Bart (ex Out Came the Wolves). They hand picked Christian Grey (vocals), Logan Bartholomew (vocals/bass), and Cody Pauly (guitar) for their experience within the local scene, having been in previous bands. The 2 wanted to help manage a new band just for sake of seeing where it went.

The then incomplete band went into the studio with Johnny Franck (ex Attack Attack! vocalist) in October of 2013, to record 2 singles as a test run to see how well the band would do. When they returned home they added Sam "Bonnie" Bonati on drums.

Villain of the Story had their first show as an opener for Alesana on "The Decade Tour" on March 29th, 2014.

After receiving attention from their 2 singles, VOTS decided to go back into the studio in early April to record a debut EP.

During their second trip to the studio they recorded a cover of NSYNC's "Pop", which was debuted on Johnny Franck's personal YouTube channel on June 18th.

On May 11th, the band opened for the likes of Dance Gavin Dance and Capture the Crown as part of the "Acceptance Speech" tour as their second show.

Logan then moved from vocals and bass to just vocals, and they added Sean Wayne on bass. The new VOTS landed a spot on "The Allstars Tour 2014" opening for bands such as I See Stars, The Acacia Strain, and Like Moths to Flames.

Bonnie left the band in early August due to personal and musical differences, before the band shot their first music video. The video was done by well renowned videographer Jeremy Tremp for their next single "A Life Worth Living". The song premiered on September 14th, 2014.

The guys then began working with and became managed by FIVEONETHREE and Bobby Kalton in early 2015.

Cody Pauly left the band for personal reasons prior to the band's debut EP release, and was replaced by Michael Ivers.

Currently, the band has multiple planned shows, one being the opener for Suicide Silence's "Stronger Than Faith Tour". Their debut EP "The Prologue" is set to release March 3rd, 2015.
