This song is genius man! I've never anything else like it. Somehow they manage to meticulously craft a sense of delirium, a latent feeling of existential panic; it describes the effectively hypnotised (or more bluntly, enslaved) mental state of a heroin addict (or an icehead, a crackhead, a pill popper, whatever). The active addict is always having the same exact experience over and over again, with less and less variation as time goes on. For me this song really captures addiction through its relentless repetition (there is only one melody in the whole song, excluding the vocals), and its interjection of bizarre, disjointed voices arranged rhythmically over the beat, which is incredibly basic and yet has so much pummeling intensity. I picture a strung-out junkie tripping on some potent LSD and wandering the incomprehensible maze of downtown or somethin'.
