Ugasanie is a ritual dark ambient project from Belarus. Ugasanie (from Russian translates as ” extinction ” or ” fading ” ) was born in autumn 2010 by Pavel Malyshkin. The name Ugasanie was once used in his band that played somber psychedelic garage rock and is also associated with the term ” nirvana ” in Buddhism. He also played in various bands , mainly on bass guitar. Dark ambient recording started in 2010, at first the music was conceived simply as a background for poems. Since then , he spent six months in the Arctic Circle on the Yamal Peninsula , the dominant theme of the music become the north. Polar night , endless expanses of … One of the albums recorded there. The album ” The White Silence” was recorded in Belarus, but the mood of the northern tundra of the far north of Russia is the focus of the album. Ugasanie uses synthesizers, field recordings and live instruments like The harp ( khomus ) ocarina (clay Belarusian folk flute), zhaleyka ( Belarussian folk wooden flute) and guitar.
