Один из примеров "супер" групп с глупым названием, но при этом играющих интересный блэк метал. Хотя последний альбом и не метал уже - сам Торстен Мур с ними.

Holy shit, I have to agree with Skanking_Skippy. I literally came here to post very similar sentiments myself. I originally couldn't get into the material, but recently gave it another whirl, and it totally clicked. Not super amazing all-timer status or anything, but pretty solid stuff.

The U.S. Twilight finally clicked for me. About ten years ago when I was suuuper into black metal, I couldn't get into their music, couldn't find anything of value in the sounds, AKA I was an elitist ass with a very limited palette. Today, I checked out the second and third album and am really impressed. Especially III with Thurston's involvement - I could really hear the different influences between Wrest/Thurston/Aaron Turner and the rest of them. Won't bore you with my attempt to dissect their sound, but gotta say there's alotta noise on this shoubox about how this band is lacking. I spent the afternoon painting to their albums and it was glorious, highly recommended.

This is why I hate it when bands share the same name. I thought you'd fix this problem by now, Last.fm, c'mon.

to me some parts of the new record sound as if they're trying to pick up the pieces altar of plagues left behind last year.. but yeah, godflesh-y as well.

He also did some long interview in some online Hipster rag about it at one point, might have been Pitchfork. I respect his interest in it, but I don't look forward to more insincere fans in black metal.

Well Aaron Turner was already on Monument so I don't think Thurston Moore is too big a surprise. They obviously aren't trying to stick to the more "true" BM of the first release. I'm not sure the bio is correct though, as I was under the impression The guys from Krieg, Leviathan, and Nachmysticum were the core members of the band and any other musicians were temporary.

The self-titled album has its moments. Monument to Time End falls flat on its face, however.(2)
