Dark Knight Dummo was released on December 5, 2017 (following several weeks of teasing), and marks the first collaboration between Trippie Redd and Travis Scott.
The title seems to be a reference to the groundbreaking 2008 Christoper Nolan Batman film, “The Dark Knight.” It also seems to make reference to 6ix9ine’s “Gummo,” which is where the ‘Dummo’ from the title comes from. They were recently engaged in beef after they had a fight backstage at ‘Day ‘N Night’ festival.
It’s also worth noting that the melody that Trippie uses in the hook is very reminiscent of the melody he used on XXXTENTACION’s “Fuck Love.” The song peaked at 72 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Trippie Redd's first entry on the chart as a lead artist.
