I hated this song at the beginning too. I was like WTF???? Neil Gaiman actually explained to me on Twitter what the mammal and dandelion bit means. It's all to do with the distribution of media, albums, texts, etc. Novels and books are mammals because to distribute it to the masses, you must distribute the whole animal. Music on the other hand is the dandelion. You can distribute an album as a whole, but now with the internet you can distribute it song by song, like blowing the seeds off a dandelion. :D These are the conversation these two have together haha

I hated this one for the longest time and now I love it. Especially the dandelion bit.

Of course I would rather she made a whole album of songs the quality of Datura but this is a great pop song; at least it's not another mid-pace maunge.

why are we hating on this again? it has more energy and more of a classic Tori feel than anything on Beekeeper (title track aside of course :) ) o

Okay, maybe not the best ever. Kind of like "I I am a M.I.L.F. . . don't you forget. . ." But it doesn't have to be her best song ever. There's always something in all her songs that's really worth hearing. The part about Neil and her being a dandelion is so cute and uniquely Tori.

I really like this album overall, but to me this is one of Tori's worst songs, along with Police Me and a lot of TBK.

Don't love it overall, but the spoken bit in the second verse is awesome. It's possibly even the first time she's actually done it in a song(?)

People who give their opinions are allowed. Doesn't take away from the fact that they absolutely nothing about music. Excellent song Not Dying Today is. Definitely will be fun to see live. The bridge is reflexive and lush adding a much needed space between the chorus and verse. I'd have turned down the guitars a bit on the mix as they distract from the song itself. But still a good track. By the way, Ireland is a do-wop. To compare it to any other track that Tori has done or ever will do is inane and completely anti-intellectual. At least she experiments with sounds and takes herself into territory that's not familiar, which is more than I can say for most current artists who let their boyfriends beat them and prance around like nothing has happened. Amos message has always been about emancipation from control. Police Yourself!

Worst Tori song ever? You clearly haven't heard 'Ireland' then. It actually makes me sad to be Irish!
