Still return to this as my favorite Tim Hecker album, and probably my favourite ambient album ever. Such a vivid sense of time and place. I feel like I’m on a tiny canoe in a bright blue sea under a bright blue sky, sun beating down and salt in the air, lonely but burning with passion as I watch people sail by. Ships are all around teeming with activity, a bustling port in the distance with traders greeting each other and the new day. I feel vertiginous, I can’t tell if I’m falling down into the sea from the rigging of a larger ship or falling up into the ether.

Okay, this is probably my favorite ambient work of all time. I hold it pretty much close with Akira Yamaoka's work for SH2. There's something that I can't really put my finger on, but I'm always coming back to this one.

This was my first Tim Hecker album, and it still is my favorite. All others are great as well, but this touches me more: it is the whole package really, the titles, the artwork, the faint radio transmissions, the melancholic mood. This is a masterpiece!
