Tim Booth was born on 4 February 1960 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England, and attended Shrewsbury School. He is a singer, dancer, and actor best known as the lead singer from the band James. He recorded an album with film composer Angelo Badalamenti, entitled Booth and the Bad Angel, in 1996. After leaving James in 2001, he taught dance lessons and furthered his acting career. He appeared in a small role as Mr. Zsasz in the 2005 film Batman Begins. Tim Booth released his first solo album (Bone) - though he refers to it as a collaboration - in 2004.
Tim Booth rejoined James in 2007, but has continued his solo career and acting alongside the band. In 2009 he made an appearance in the independent British movie Poor Wee Me, and his second solo album Love Life came out in 2011.
