I am addicted to the new song (Nema vermek) and really like the direction Tamas progresses this time. Looking forward to experience new album and their live show in Budapest!

Alföld will release June 16th, and to be a more extreme metal album compared to most Thy Catafalque content

i love that even tho its more extreme than the previous releases, to the point that i had to do a double take i was spinning the correct album when hearing the opening track for the first time, it still hasnt lost a bit of that special thy catafalque sound that youre used to getting. this is one of my favourite releases of 2023 so far.

Can't say I liked Vadak as much as I loved Geometria. It just feels like something is missing. Might need to give it another try.

Vadak is (again) a bit of comeback to Catafalque's typical sound, but this time I feel like it's way heavier than most of recent releases, at least in some parts. Sometimes it feels like listening to death metal band (Gomboc and Móló riffs, for example). As a huge fan of Rengeteg tho - I approve! Vadak still contains a lot of TC's subtlety and atmosphere, so there's no lost value in that.

Vadak весьма пиздат. Вообще Тамаш молодчик, в последнее время плодит чуть не каждый год по альбому, почти не скатываясь в качестве

This album feels like being stuck in a psychedelic / nostalgia trip to metaphysics of one's past which seems to be a common theme in his music. Songs feel like intense dreams in which attempting to understand the surroundings causes deep emotional plunges. Naiv feels like a handful of colorful ideas that appear in one's imagination late evenings. Vadak is rawer, sort of like Sgurr, but even more immersive. A fascinating caleidoscope of rushing pictures and scenes.

Interesting mix, as if you've thrown recent Satyricon, The Levellers, Jethro Tull and Visage together and added unique Hungarian spices!

This is avant-garde in the proper sense of the word. Amazing and I regret putting this band off until today.

Damn, I've been puttting this band off for way too long. This is Avant Garde Black Metal done right. This isn't the hipster garbage that has been infesting the genre (and Metal as a whole) for the last decade.

I think "Naiv" and Sigh's "Gallows Gallery" are the two albums that really pushed me this year to start listening to more progressive death & black metal. If anyone would be so kind as to suggest other bands in this vein, I'd be most appreciative.

For this particular kind you'll have better luck searching for avant-garde metal. Go ahead and try the similar artists from this very page (Solefald, Schammasch, Manes, Perihelion, etc.). They won't sound really that similar, but you'll get the point.
