I listened to this album a lot right after my fiance died from an OD, especially "God of Wine", "The Background", and "How's It Going To Be". We sang hows it gonna be together a lot in the car, which prompted me to check out the whole album a little after he passed. i never really listened to this band, mostly just knew the songs in passing because they were on the radio, or i heard them in a store. kinda scared me how fitting most of the the songs were to my situation, and i would cry to them a lot in the car (and still do, unfortunately). I have a strong bond to this album and recommend it to everyone i meet. thank you to this album and to Third Eye Blind for helping me through the worst months of my grief. I hope everyone who listens may hold their loved ones close. Please tell them you love them today and tomorrow, and every day thereafter. You never know when they might leave you. Love and light my friends. Until we meet again. <3

Very similar story here… except I’m the addict in the relationship starting to fear my death. This album has helped me relate to my current situation a lot and take comfort in it knowing that there’s atleast someone out there who understands me

hi, friend. i hope you know that whatever choices you make, if you keep using or pursue recovery, no matter what, you are loved, and you will always be loved. i understand how difficult it is to stop when everything feels so far away. i've been in the same boat since he left. i'm sorry. i wish it was easier. my sweetheart was in a lot of pain, and i assume you are, as well. it's okay. I love you. please stay safe. there are so many more songs to discover :)

This was the album that was in every single restaurant's CD jukebox when I was a kid. This and Chronicle by CCR.

This record really broke through the noise of alternative rock in 1997. It was one of the first CDs I got, and it still stands out today. The songs are distinctive, the band is great, and the recording is amazing. IMO, this is one of the greatest sounding rock records of all time! Great redbook worth listening to on a good system.

Was the first album I ever owned. My Dad and I still agree this is one of the best albums ever.

"Semi-Charmed Life is a song that everyone sings likes it’s a summer anthem for the beach when it’s actually a song about a sex and crystal meth addict" ... I agree but it's definitely not the first popular song about drugs. Hardly groundbreaking in that regard. Awesome song & great album though.

favorite album of all time. beautiful from start to finish. i wish they would have continued releasing music like this. but when you think about it you can't really make something like this twice, it just wouldn't be right.

Easily one of the best records to come out of the 90's. Incredible production, superb engineering, killer songs....just awesome.

Semi-Charmed Life is a song that everyone sings likes it’s a summer anthem for the beach when it’s actually a song about a sex and crystal meth addict. Boom. Roasted. I always liked the radio songs....but this is my first time listening to the whole CD and I can't believe I didn't buy this album when it came out. Every song is pretty great....I had never heard the 2nd half of the disc before. Man, I missed out....but glad I finally got it. Awesome.

It's like between listening I forget it's so great, and then I listen and it becomes my favorite album all over again.
