Both versions of this song on the concert with John Coltrane at Carnegie Hall sound so different than this one... It all sounds very melancholy in a Taxi Driver soundtrack kind of way. I love them both, and my appreciation for them depends on my mood. I have yet to understand what makes the arrangement sound so characteristically different played at that concert.

3:07 appears to be Thelonious Monk with John Coltrane, which... shouldn't be here?

I'm confused. Is this the page for every different recording of Epistrophy he ever made? Because just about every Monk live show has (at least) one of this signature tune of his, and it appeared on several studio albums. What's weirder, none of mine are 3:07 in length. It seems really dumb to conflate every occurrence of his theme on tape, good and bad, into one page.

give me some thelonious, and then give me some more. And then just another helping. And a little for the doggie bag and... I think I've just discovered the jazz food diet.
