  • Release Date

    1 January 2005

  • Length

    18 tracks

From many considered the best album of the band, this more mature work is for half a collection of instrumental / singed tracks and for half a real concept album, an 8-tracks suite with a story developed by the bandmember (and pro-writer, with several novels written and prizes won) Duilio Chiarle. More influenced from jazz and ethnic music than the first album, this tells is the story of an alchemist in the middle age. Differently from the first band's album A traveller who didn't ask for glory (2004), is not totally instrumental music but it also contains 2 singed tracks (singed by guest musicians).
Since the 2nd edition of The Alchemist CD couldn't host anymore the big booklet (who had the story in both italian and english), the band decided to make a narrated story in audiobook format, Travellers & Alchemists (Audiobook) (2006), so the entire concept could be appreciated by the ones who did listen to the music just in a digital way or got the 2nd edition of the CD. The italian narrating voice is the one of the sax player of the band, while the english narrating voices are of John Worsley and Dave Long (of Gamma Leonis) who also collaborated to 2 tracks of the album. The english transcription is by Fabrizio B. Maracich.
