Oh cool... I kind of wish he keeps with the kind of classy loungey drunk feel, rather than the direction the band's going with Little Cloud, but that's not my call, every musician grows, develops and changes. My uncle was saying he was sick of Tim's voice because he used to live down the road from him, probably seen The Whitlams at The Sandringham a few times, says Tim 'talks' instead of sings, but personally, I couldn't imagine better vocals for The Whitlams' style.

@Mitch: Tim Freedman is working on some solo material for a while. They just completed their last tour as a band for a while while he does this. They're not broken up just on hiatus... :( but Tim should make some good music :D

I understand what people are saying about Little Cloud, I think I know why as well, it's not very unique to The Whitlams. Are they releasing another album eventually? I hope they do.

I'm suprised they never broke international other than UK and Canada... I mean, their music is just something that has been missing from drunken late nights stumbling around. I only wish The Whitlams was playing when I was trashed in Newtown.

First saw the Whitlams at the Shepherds Bush Empire about 8-9 years ago as a guest of Warwick's niece. Didn't know who they were at the time but we ended up back at the hotel bar for a quiet drink, wasn't very rock and roll, chatted to Warwick and Terepai about wine (Tim was chatting up some blonde at the bar, and Jak didn't seem to be there), and have been a fan ever since. I have spread the word up here in Dundee, Scotland and "Buy now, pay later" was a favourite to belt out on the way home from a night out. Still holding out for the Whitlams to come to Scotland, but think I may have to make the trip 'down under' to see them again. PS Talking about Australia, I was at Murrayfield on Saturday to see Scotland beat the Aussies 9-8 ;)

Early Whitlams - and no, i'm not usually one of those people who harps on about 'early albums are better and i get sick of newer stuff because i'm a toss' - is possibly the best Australia has ever seen... Couldn't get into Little Cloud

Just out of curiosity, do any of you think that this Dream Theater song (Wait for Sleep) sounds like a Whitlams song?
