Bringing Down the Horse is the second album from The Wallflowers and was released in May 1996. It contains hits such as “One Headlight” "6th Avenue Heartache”, "Three Marlenas", and "The Difference”.

One Headlight was the band's most popular single, reaching #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock, Modern Rock, and Adult top 40 charts, and went on to win them a Grammy Award in 1998. The Wallflowers commenced work on the album in 1994. The writing and recording process spanned two years and five California recording studios. The album was finished in early 1996. Bringing Down the Horse was one of the best-selling albums of 1997, when it went platinum four times that year. In December 1999, it was ranked number 86 on Billboard magazine's end of decade charts.

Bringing Down the Horse was issued on vinyl for the first time on May 13th, 2016, to commemorate the album's 20th anniversary.
