“I Can’t Stand It” was originally recorded May 20, 1969, during the sessions for the Velvet Underground’s lost fourth album. It was discarded after the band was dropped from MGM Records and the planned album was thrown out.
Lou Reed later re-recorded this song for inclusion on his first solo album, Lou Reed.
