Oops, I forgot to report back here that after a slow start, this album ended up being my most-listened-to album of 2020 - all in the few months at the end of the year, when I suddenly became obsessed with it! I don't love every song, but the songs I love I am still addicted to to this day. Great album.

Okay to start with, This is by far the best thing they've done since at least Zeitgeist, 'Purple Blood' stands out for me. But my main problem is Billy's voice, it's too fucking loud! It's turned up to 11 on every song, and it doesn't stop and take breaks. It ruins what is possibly a great Pumpkins record, and leaves those awesome synthy sounds as background noise. And yes it really needs time to breathe, maybe let the music play for some moments without vocals, it's like he needs to be heard at all times. I've been very dissapointed with all the SP records after Zeitgeist, and finally there is one I think is great and it's been ruined with the mixing.

I agree that it's a good album. I'm loving a lot of it. I don't hear his voice as too loud, but I am in the camp that prefers his old way of singing to his current one. Still, I'm not fighting against it anymore and I'm accepting the new voice for what it is.

It's not awful (so that's a step forwards over Billy's solo stuff that was released under the Pumpkins name from 2007-2014, as well as Shiny and Oh So Bright), but it's very safe, inoffensive, and repetitive; the tracks all kind of blend together and nothing stands out (except Birch Grove). It's also overlong.

Not their most mind-blowing album, to be sure, but I still like what I've heard so far. Not a huge fan of the constant backing vox. I imagine I'll adapt. Have yet to hear the full album but I'm working on it now.

Billy Corgan recruits Pumkin band mates to form a church band! With the Christian influenced album title and the synth-pop sound I am having a hard time tryin to like this album. There’s a few good songs but everything else sounds the same.

synths doesn't equal "synthpop", that's ignorant, specially when most of the synth arrangements throughout the album are what keeps it fresh the most.

I agree there are some stand out tracks but a lot sounds the same, certainly could have been stripped down to sub 50 minutes

Well, I'd rather listen to good New Order than sleepy synth pop from Billy Corgan. Sorry Billy, it's an industrial failure. Back to Adore, it was the good mix of synth for me.
