Sunday morning with a faint breeze right outside my open windows – guess it's time to throw on another Sea & Cake record.

Hurray for the new album. I already was worried, that Runner was the last. And they surprised twice by giving out top-notch vibes.

It's sad but yes, I agree with you... Their music could be awesome but something is bothering me, I'm not hooked and I think it's because of this jazzy thing.

Both are good genres, but it is like eating Chinese food with chocolate cake. It doesn't work. One is melodic and soft and the other is complex and modal.

Ultimately it is everyone's preference, but jazz is usually polyphonic and modal and the rhythms are offbeat, so it kinda contradicts the slowness and melodic sound that I like from post-rock. Jazz is usually energetic for that and post-rock is more relaxing, so I see it as a contradiction.

For those that haven't listened to Transparent - it may not be in their top listened tracks - it is definitely worth a listen.

i discovered the band at my local libby due to thinking the Moonlight Butterfly album had something to do with Dark Souls. boy, was i ever let down. not not that the music's at all bad or anything like that. Inn Keeping's quite enchanting.

I'm so behind on their releases. I've just been jamming Oui and Car Alarm until I found their self-titled work last week

Wow, didn't expect the album to be so solid. It's their best integration of electronics yet. I'm just saying, I prefer post-2007 Sea and Cake to pre-2007 (if I had to choose, ugh. It was 'Everybody' that got me into them, anyway)

New record is great, takes me back about six years ago for some reason. I was listening to a lot of Sea & Cake and Broken Social Scene and this is a welcomed listen to my ears. Good stuff!

Details of The Sea and Cakes new album are up on At the Sinema, plus a stream of new track 'Harps'- I would seriously suggest checking it out, if you haven't already http://atthesinema.co.uk/?p=6149
