This album is ok, probably the weakest outside of Americana (not counting the newest one as i havent heard it) but this is still pretty good. A few of my favorite songs from the band are on here which is cool.

Didn't like this album much when it first dropped, aside from a few songs. Over the years though, my opinion's gotten a bit more positive. The first four tracks are all great. It loses some momentum after that but I do enjoy "Takes Me Nowhere", "Nothingtown" and "Rise and Fall" (though not as much as the first 4 tracks).

Otherwise 100% second your opinion, but I'd also list Stuff Is Messed Up as one of the good tracks (not as the best, though). But I do work in the news, so that line about the media makes me laugh every time. The three slower tracks are the weakest here for me, I find the rest of the album very enjoyable.

why are people complaining about the album cover? I think It looks awesome. See Magical Mystery Tour for the worst cover.

And, sorry for rambling, when it comes to illustrated album covers, typefaces that look handwritten/illustrated often work the best. For example, on Conspiracy of One or on Ixnay on the Hombre, the text looks part of the design, instead of just pasting the text next to the illustration with a random typeface, which is the feel here for me. Just my opinion, though

Green Day still puts out great music and both bands are great in their own right

Yep. This album is produced poorly and mastered poorly. Way too much compression that causes clipping (like when you record a loud concert on a phone) which results in that crackling sound. You may also notice the album sounds muddy and nothing has any punch to it. 'Days Go By' has the same issue and so does their new single 'Coming For You'.... seems like Bob Rock is a big part of the problem.

Might be the ugliest album cover ever made. [3] but the songs are very good [2]

I definitely like this better than Splinter and Conspiracy. It grows on you and I like the way it's actually really diverse.
