The Nocturnes can refer to one of three groups.

1. The Nocturnes were a British pop group from Manchester, active from 1964 to 1969. Established at Tiffany's in Manchester, the band featured future members of The New Seekers. A six-piece Mamas and Papas-style vocal group, they signed to EMI in 1967. Tim Rice wrote lyrics to the b-sides of their two EMI singles, neither of which charted. They are still active, performing live and releasing several live CDs and videos. Personnel in the 1960s: Eve Graham, Ken Taylor, Lyn Paul, Nicky Walker, Pat A'Hearn and Ross Mitchell. http://nocturnesband.com/

2. A California "alternative" band featuring guitarist/vocalist Emma Ruth Rundle, guitarist/vocalist Julian Rifkin, multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Paris Patt and drummer Dave Clifford (also of Red Sparowes). As a duo featuring Rundle and drummer Daniel Yasmin, The Nocturnes released their debut Wellington EP in January 2008 while based in New Zealand. Upon returning to Los Angeles, the duo issued the full length A Year of Spring the following year. In this time, Rundle formed a close musical connection with Patt, who contributed bass guitar to the debut album. On the "Live on KXLU" EP, Rundle was joined by Rifkin for the drum-less session when Yasmin was unable to play. Yasmin left the band shortly thereafter, relocating to the Bay Area. In 2010, the band re-formed as a quartet.

3. A big band based out of the Jersey Shore
