Before the Dream Faded is in drastic need of vinyl reissue. It's worth it if not only for the A-Side tracks: "The Colour of Their Sound". This band layed out the groundwork for the future of cool rock n' roll in terms of dynamic use of sound. Whether it be thumping percussion, quiet interludes or sonic overdriven fuzz this band was on the cutting edge of their time. It would be so nice to see a vinyl re-issue with a proper album cover, gatefold and hopefully some extra tracks from their last sessions in the mid sixties. Make it happen people :)

If you The Animals - Eric Burdon's voice - then check these guys out -- you won't regret it.

The Misunderstood - Before the Dream Faded (1982) Questa è una delle più originali formazioni della scena psichedelica dei 60s, provenienti da Riverside, California. “I Can Take You To The Sun” è un trip magico che di lì a poco verrà intrapreso ed amplificato dai Doors e da altri gruppi del periodo. Saranno rivalutati a posteriori dai critici come uno dei gruppi più innovativi di quella stagione psichedelica, dopo l'uscita del favoloso " Before The Dream Faded " nel 1982. Formazione: Bass – Steve Whiting- Drums – Rick Moe - Keyboards – Greg Treadway - Lead Guitar – George Phelps - Lead Vocals, Harmonica – Rick Brown- Rhythm Guitar – Greg Treadway - Steel Guitar – Glenn Ross Campbell - Lead Guitar, Vocals – Tony Hill.._.-._.hari om .. ॐะ

It's really something that they recorded something in the 1960's and it wouldn't be released until the 1980's. Good stuff!

such a shame they never got a proper chance and the dream faded. psychedelic rock would have been changed profoundly. there had so many ideas condensed in these singles, I can only weep when I think what they could have done next if they were given a chance to record a proper album. "Piper at the gates of dawn" or "Roger the Engineer" would pale in comparison

Nice... A shame about their demise, but on the other hand Van der Graaf Generator got Guy Evans, an amazing drummer (Nic Potter's great too, of course, but he didn't stay long).

Grazie . Grazie a John Peel , perchè senza il suo aiuto , i Misunderstood si sarebbero persi , senza lasciare alcuna traccia .

What a bloody great album. Can't believe it wasn't released till the 80.'s.what a crime & a crying shame! The David are great too, but less rhythm and Blues and more like Love or something...

Glenn Ross Campbell was amazing. A shame the draft broke them up. They truely were the "American Yardbirds"

let's help them to be understood nowadays... they deserve it, being one of the best garage/psychedelic rock bands of the 60s.

the name would surely only be ironic if they were not misunderstood in any way. unless there is a definition of irony that has escaped me.
