Homespun Carolina sincerity is what I think of MTB when I listen to them all the time.

I think just saying "the 80s" in general covers that haha. The 80s was really a springboard decade for trying out new technology that got (in my opinion) far more fine tuned in the 90s (which like the 70s has a timeless sound).

I think of the 1980's & I instantly think of Phil Collins & also his drum set. In fact practically every band's drum set. Turnt up as they say. (:

oh how l love Phil Collins haha, he's terrific! I was a teen in the 90s so I played a lot of 80s music growing up, and while I have a fondness of it at times, a lot of groups from the 70s didn't transition as well as others to my ears.

ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I'VE EVER SEEN, MTB AND SANTANA. THEY BOOTH SHARED THE STAGE FOR A JAMMING SESSON. GREAT JAM BANDS, BEFORE THEIR TIME. (BEFORE JAM BANDS WERE COOL)

Hello Music Fans! That shout just before this is a tough one to follow, but here goes...I've been leading several groups here on lastfm for a while, but I don't have the time to lead them anymore. I just abdicated leadership of [group]Gov't Mule[/group] and [group]The Movie Group[/group]. I'd like to find new leaders for [group]Robert Cray[/group] and [group]Concert Stories[/group] and [group]The Marshall Tucker Band[/group]. If you'd like to lead one, let me know with a message or post in the group shoutbox. These groups deserve leaders who will take an active role in leadership.

This group is a must have and my library would not be complete with this original and kick ass band that has been with me for 30 + years now. I have to have them. Awesome and my play doesn't reflect that yet.

this from a time when folks that listened to and made this type of music were actually cool and not just a bunch of middle class white suburban assholes or third rate musicians that couldn't pay their bills with rock and roll so they sold out to the man to get some air play on CMT. Just my opinion.
