Awesome band! I knew of them, but never got around to them until now. Checked out their latest album first and now listening to Apathy and Exhaustion. Brandon Kelly has definitely maintained his voice well over time. He sounds the same way as he did on Apathy and Exhaustion.

Does anyone have the three bonus songs from Metropole (Deluxe Edition) in 256kbps or higher that they'd be willing to send to me? i would greatly appreciate it!

As much as i love TLA I was disappointed with Metropole, maybe should give it some more listens but it's lacking a song like 'Are You There Margaret' or 'Lose Your Illusion', songs with real energy and heart

"Metropole" is definitely missing the fire of the performances on older Larry Arms albums but I think the songs still have more than enough sincerity and emotional charge to sell them. It just comes from a different place; "Metropole" is more contemplative and melancholic than the two albums which preceded it, which had a desperate and urgent emotional drive. Although "Metropole" obviously isn't very desperate or urgent in comparison, it's still really potent and moving imo; "don't kill all the beautiful things" and "I blinked twice and twenty years went by" were two moments that just knocked me over. Anyway, I don't think the band will ever make another record that sounds as angry as the old stuff cuz they're just older now so they probs don't have or don't particularly want to reach for that same high level of energy. But I'm fine with that as long as the songs are still really well written, which I think is true of the songs on "Metropole". Freaking love that record.

Pretty much completely agree with this. I was initially disappointed in "Metropole" when it dropped, but it's definitely a grower. There's plenty of emotion on it, it's just presented in a more subdued way.

One of the best albums this year for sure. I think YMCA is the best song they've ever written.
