About the band:
The Kumfort Women are a self-described genre-blind gang of three,
producing darkly observational lo-fi simian “cyborilla” Punk often tempered by
opulent “blu-wave”.
Experimental and melodic, we gravitate to sounds of the past channelled in the
present, whilst DREAMIN/SCREAMIN of the future.
We ecstatically decree, "NO SOUND SACRED NOR SHUNNED."
Stool Pigeon review:
"Many congratulations to The Kumfort Women - not a lettuce-picking girl group, but a man called Mr Walker who, in his own words, is "an American born in Korea, raised in the deep southern state of Georgia and is now permanently based in London". Anyway, he sent in a very inspiring tape (a tape!) with six brilliantly lo-fi songs on it, all gratingly-interesting and charming. Mr Walker has bundles of imagination and a canny ear for a chirpy couplet: "It isn't the cough that carries you off/ It's the coffin they carry you off in."
