“Where Does Your Spirit Go” is a tribute to all of The Kid LAROI’s loved one’s that didn’t make it.

On the track, LAROI emotionally sings over a solely piano beat, recalling back to when Juice passed away on December 8th 2019, and how the passing of some his loved ones still affects him to this day.

Laroi debuted the song at his show at the Lodge Room in Los Angeles on April 21st, 2022.

Although this song is mainly a tribute to Juice, the lyrics sung in the chorus/post-chorus apply to Laroi’s other friends/relatives who passed away as well. As on June 7th, 2022 at his show in Brisbane, Laroi wanted to tribute the song to his friend Saik who passed away in November 2020.

On November 14th, 2022, a brief interaction would occur on Twitter where someone replied to Laroi saying “u better not have scrapped where does your spirit go.”, in which Laroi responded “I would never scrap that song ever.”.

On December 22nd, 2022, Laroi liked a tweet saying that the song is confirmed to be on his debut album, THE FIRST TIME, reassuring people that the song will in fact be released, despite speculation that it wouldn’t.

On January 30th, 2023, Laroi posted a video of himself performing the song in concert to his Instagram, but quickly deleted it.

On February 10th, 2023, Laroi would put out a series of tweets, all of which were deleted shortly after. In the first tweet, he confirmed that the song is on the album, the follow up tweet he said, “Just to re confirm because I saw a lot of you asking:)”. The third tweet was a video of himself performing the song in concert.

On April 19th, 2023, Laroi announced on Instagram that the song would be releasing on Friday, April 21st, 2023, exactly 1 year after he first previewed the song.
