"Friend's" is an acceptable contraction for "friend is." "Friend's" is also a word that means something belongs to a friend. Both are correct. You must use the context clues of a sentence to figure out which one is being used. Obviously "hot" is not something belonging to a friend here, so it's a contraction for "friend is."

Uhh, oh dear. "My Best Friend's Hot" is correct! The apostrophe can also indicate substitution for letters. For example, "Let's go to the store." Anyway, I love this song <3

MackTheKnifeAU2-- ...Who cares if the title is grammaticality correct? If the song went "My best friend is hot. My best friend is hot." it would be horrible. People use technically incorrect contractions; get used to it. 'Snot so horrible.

I'm wondering if the title is grammatically correct. I believe it should be "My best friend is hot." because "my best friend's hot" indicates that the song is about the "hot" that the best friend owns. Like "my best friends dog" would be about the best friends dog.

A warning for anyone in the situation: Don't tell your best friend you think they're hot or that you're, indeed, in love with them. It'll screw you up, I tell you!
