"Virgins and Phillistines" is a timeless album: for its great music, but also for the excellent production. I love the way it sounds. It's clear, pure, smooth and natural. It's all about the music, and you almost cannot tell which decade does the album come from. By the way, I love the continuous key changes and major/minor shifts in the middle of the songs, they are so lively and unpredictable.

I love this group, it does remind me of my teenage years when our family went camping in southern California. We would listen to KROQ-106.7 And they wound play alot of there music....

Castles in the Air (both versions) is so undervalued. Its probably Hall's best song, and that's saying a lot

I regard the 1st Colourfield album Virgins and Philistines as one of the best (and certainly most overlooked) albums of the 1980's. Sadly their 2nd album was utter crap.
