5th in my ranking but still a very good album. I like every song except Atom Tan, Sean Flynn, Ghetto Defendant and Death Is A Star

That's an entire third of the album you dislike - I guess that's why you rank it 5th! Sean Flynn is great though man, sets the tone for the whole ambience of the album 🤔

Not as bad as people make it out to be, but definitely made for broader appeal.

I don't think so at all actually - Should I Stay and Casbah excepted this is basically as weird as Sandinista, just much shorter.

Cool album! I remember I was in a record store at the Jersey Shore in the 1990's and they played this album in its entirety. That was the first time I listened to it.

Initially I didn't much care for this album, but now find it's the Clash album I reach for the most. I still don't care for Should I Stay or Should I Go, but the majority of the other tracks make for an extremely enjoyable and satisfying listen. This is a sonically adventurous, groove oriented album that sounds almost contemporary at many points. Miles away from the abrasive, quick assaults of their incredible first album.

Если вайбом считаются "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" и "Rock The Casbah", то, по-моему, как раз "Know You Rights" и должна выступать одной из композиций, которые нехило портят его, наравне с "Car Jamming", "Red Angel Dragnet" и т.д.

The thing I love about the clash is they didn't stick to their punk roots and I loved it when they explored other sounds this record is truely amazing and I ❤️ It a lot I have no disliking to it at all

As good as London Calling and Sandinista! really, just differently scaled. Allen Ginsberg sooth-talking over the Ghetto Defendant groove is one of my favorite things the Clash put their name behind.

"This isn't punk." Who cares? It's good music irrespective of the label. If you define punk as short, fast songs with one chord at most then nothing the Clash did after the first LP is punk and many of the songs on the first LP aren't punk either. The Clash was/is bigger than a silly label like "punk." Anyway, this is my favorite Clash album. I love all the weird shit on the second side.

Coolbutlame
This album suffered from the disco overload that Public Image Limited suffered from in the 80's, but it's still got some of the greatest Clash tracks (Know Your Rights, Should I Stay or Should I Go, Rock the Casbah, Straight to Hell, Atom Tan, Sean Flynn) ever written.
