"Ticket To Ride" is a single by British rock band The Beatles. It was primarily written by John Lennon and credited to the Lennon-McCartney partnership. The lyrics of the song describe a girl leaving the narrators life. The origins of the title phrase have been disputed. "Ticket To Ride" was released as single in 1965 with the B Side "Yes It Is". The song reached number 1 on both the UK Singles Chart and Billboard Hot 100. The song was included in the bands film Help! along with the soundtrack album of the same name. In 1969 American vocal duo The Carpenters did a ballad version of the song which reached number 54 on the Billboard Hot 100.
