For years, I thought it WAS the opener. My parents played it on CD all the time whwn I was little, and often had it on repeat, so I had no idea where it started and ended. It wasn't until I rediscovered the beatles as a teen and started ripping all the CDs that I found out it was the closer

Maybe they listened to the "Let it be ...Naked" - Version? There it's the opener.

The lyrics have “Jojo” in it, and at the end of part 3, Joseph plays this song on his Walkman. It’s definitely a jojo reference.

Does anyone think Macca sounds like Kermit in this song? This is not a diss to Kermit or Macca. They are both delightful.

The exact opposite actually. The song is a parody of Enoch Powell's anti-immigrant views

The LOVE version of this song is absolutely incredible-for those who haven't heard it, the beginning builds up the "Hard Day's Night" chord, then the "End" drum and guitar solos, right into this song. Gives me chills every time...hell, I almost cried when I saw the show it was so well done!

Early versions include the line "I dig no Pakistanis." The song began as a commentary about immigration, telling people to "Get Back" to their own countries. It was meant to mock Britain's anti-immigrant proponents. Paul McCartney thought better of it and made the lyrics more obscure. http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=188
