The very reason why I fell in love with the Beatles decades ago and why I love them nowadays too.

This song was credited to Lennon/McCartney, but often assumed to be written almost entirely by John. Paul McCartney claims that he had a hand in writing it, however. "'Mr. Kite' is such a crazy oddball song, and I have great memories of writing it with John," he told Rolling Stone in 2013. McCartney, who played the song on his tour that year, added that if he envisioned the song as a live number, he wouldn't have made the bass line so complicated when he composed it. http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=124

@iamhags he may of disowned the song at first but in 1980 changed his mind and described as "It's so cosmically beautiful... The song is pure, like a painting, a pure watercolour." I always look forward to hearing this song whenever I put in Sgt. Peppers or Love. even the scene in Across the Universe for this song was a highlight unlike the most of this poor excuse for a Beatles musical... but yeah great song, really accomplishes that carnival sound!
