"A Day In The Life" is the closing track to The Beatles 1967 album Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, the song is one of the bands most complex and critically lauded compositions. The song is split into three ominus verses by written and sung by Lennon and a more upbeat bridge written and sung by McCartney. There are also two avant guard orchestral glissandos and studio chatter included. The songs lyrics have been often analyzed by critics and musicologist and some lyrics especially the refrain of "I'd Love To Turn You On" were controversial at the time.
