Alright, you wanna talk Beatles, huh? Let's fucking dive in. So, shit, you think Revolver was the goddamn catalyst, and then Sgt. Pepper's was the lads just showing off their fucking chops, right? I get it, they were mixing up the damn pot with all sorts of crazy shit, from rock & roll to that circus-like crap, making it all fit together like it's nothing. Fucking genius, I guess. McCartney, that cheeky bastard, seems like he's running the whole fucking show on Sgt. Pepper's, doesn't he? His tunes are catchy as hell, but it's not like he's the only motherfucker with talent in that band. Lennon, with his knack for mixing sweet and sour, like on "A Little Help From My Friends," that's some deep shit hidden in a Ringo track. And "Lucy in the Sky," man, that's some trippy stuff, ain't it? Lennon's painting pictures with words, while McCartney's building these intricate melodies. Yeah, Lennon's pieces might seem less frequent, but that fucker knew how to pack a punch with fewer words.

I really have to question decisions like following Within You Without You with When I’m Sixty-Four. Even George Martin said it was the biggest mistake of his career to release Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane as a single instead of putting it on this album, under pressure of the recording industry. It could’ve been an absolute masterpiece. Unfortunately, it contains Good Morning Good Morning that is a really sharp contrast in songwriting compared to any other track, except maybe Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite. For me, it’s largely its revolutionary production techniques that makes it really stand out, strong as the songwriting mostly is.

Especially with this and the White album, I can definitely see why they're regarded so highly, but only on some of the songs. With a Little Help and Day in the Life both immediately captured me as all-timer songs, but then you have shit like Sixty Four and Lovely Rita that really have no business being on the same album. It's a solid record, but I'm not quite ready to build a shrine to Paul yet.

I’m okay with those, but I encourage you to make your own version! I recommend using the tracks from this release below, as they’re decent stereo mixes instead of that faux stereo junk spoiling the otherwise fantastic production. https://open.spotify.com/album/1ntNLgaYCFCkeW4flGYlY2?si=DA6t06qITiyg_U3hW0wPpw

Still my favourite Beatles album (Abbey Road second, Let It Be third). I remember being absolutely transfixed by the album cover as a kid, and all the weird conspiracies around it.

Honestly one of the most overrated of The Beatles' discography. Still a good album, but I wouldn't put it over Abbey Road, Revolver, The White Album, or even Magical Mystery Tour. A classic album, no doubt about it, but I wouldn't say it's their best work

Sgt Pepper makes Abbey road look like generic middle of the road rock music. Makes Revolver look like baby's first psychedelic record. White album has always been 2/3rd crap 1/3 great and Magical Mystery Tour is just okay

This and Magical Mystery Tour are their best albums. Fantastic records. Sgt. changed my view of The Beatles and finally allowed me to get in to their music.
