"Which Side Are You On?" is a song written in 1931 by American activist Florence Reece (who was the wife of Sam Reece, a union organizer for the United Mine Workers in Harlan County, Kentucky). Pete Seeger, collecting labor union songs, learned "Which Side Are You On?" in 1940. The following year, it was recorded by The Almanac Singers in a version that gained a wide audience. Subsequently, the song has been recorded by a number of other artists.
