The 1975 unveiled a delicate cover of Sade's 2000 track "By Your Side" as a charity single raising funds for the British organization, War Child. The charity provides aid to children in war-torn countries around the world.
"By Your Side" premiered on MistaJam's BBC Radio 1 show (approximately 40 seconds into the audio clip) and finds the British outfit turning Sade's indelible acoustic pop into a luxurious soundscape of soft percussion and silky synthesizers. Singer Matthew Healey embraces the ultra-smooth vibes, filtering his soft croon through layers of effects while singing Sade's intimate lyrics.
The 1975's cover of "By Your Side" marks the group's first song since releasing their second LP, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It, last year.
