It's a shame how an extremely talented and versatile artist like Teyana feels underappreciated by the industry and has decided to retire

Idk I feel like she’s pulling a nicki minaj when she says she’s retiring lol. I feel like she’s at the point where if she released a super fire album it would get mainstream attention a la Muni Long. But then I also wonder what type of level of stardom she wants, because she’s very successful if we’re looking via an RnB lens. If she’s trying to be the next doja idk if that’ll happen based on sociocultural factors and colorism. Def very interesting how the industry pushes all the basics all the time compared to people like her tho

ughhh i really want to love the album but it's too long, too dragging - could have benefitted if she cut it in half tho the ms lauryn hill collab was absolutely good !!!

I had that same impression at first, but then I saw that it is a very eclectic album but the number of tracks is a bit lame

I pretty much agree. There is a reggae-ish track, but other than that it is a pretty boring album. I thought the first three tracks were good and then it was just all the same after that.

Teyana é uma das artistas de r&b mais versáteis da sua geração! merecia muito mais reconhecimento!

I disagree, but I respect your view. She's way better than this and has already proved that. For me, of all the major R&B albums to drop this year (Kali Uchis, Jorja Smith, etc)... this one missed it's mark. Felt like such an empty and watered down album that I didn't even recall what I heard after it was over... and WTP left a bitter taste that made me just want to forget this ever happened.

You can say that again, that's really interesting. What about their albums didn't work for you? And I've never heard of her, what's her style like? If it's trap R&B, I might not like it (the two don't mix for me). You could say I'm an R&B "oldhead" in a way, but I'm definitely open to new styles if it's done well. Kelela is a dope artist I like who is taking a new route.

I just listened to her album. I'm loving it! This will be in heavy rotation just like Redemption.

Unfortunately, KTSE is my least favorite album of the 2018 GOOD Music rollout and a dissatisfying ending to the rollout. It's not a worthy comeback or followup to VII. She's already proven that she has a lot of potential, KTSE doesn't show her abilities at all. Kanye's soulful production was a welcome addition, but the overall album feels like a void of great ideas and a lot of restraint with lackluster songwriting. My rating: 2/5
