"Of 60's music groups. Cherish its unprocessed, full, open atmosphere, and its great slightly sweet and husky voice!

Half Indian, half Persian, Tara Priya is very active in the new artists' scene around Los Angeles. Here in Japan, she is not known at all, but now she and her great husky voice will be! Her music has a '60s atmosphere: this full-blown Retrosoul pop music singer is a talent worth watching.

This record is her debut EP. Recorded with a warm heart full of unprocessed, the opening "01. Rollin '" is the outstanding number: it's got a full-throttle retro pop feel with tasteful '60s spicy taste. Slightly sweet, mellow soul chorus stands out in her shimmering "02. Wounded". To fully enjoy the charm of a relaxed voice, "03. Expectation" is especially nice all around. All six songs are high-quality music, exhibit Tara Priya's talent, and, most importantly, make you feel!"
–Yuki O., "Disques Dessinee"

"For better or worse, we live in a day and age where popular music is Fergie rapping about her fitness routine and Gwen Stefani divulging the contents of her shit (it's bananas, but if you didn't hear her correctly she'll spell it out). So it seems like a lot to ask for a female vocalist who is both soothing and invigorating, both tender and robust, and both sweet and sassy (Editor's note: straight men can't use that word).

You see where I'm going with this. TARA IS THE ANSWER TO OUR PRAYERS. This EP is a touch of jazz, a touch of golden oldies, a lot of soul, a dash of sass (seriously, stop), and delightfully ambitious. Get more here, here, and here."
–C. Leung, "Imposing My Tastes at the Price of Possible Copyright Infringement"

"Tara Priya is a fox, with a voice to match her looks. The great-niece of Sohrab Sepeheri, a Persian poet, she started playing the piano at the ripe, young age of 4. She’s clearly got a good pedigree, having graduated Columbia University magna-cum-laude 1.5 years early. After backpacking for some months, she worked in finance to fund her self-titled EP, available now on Bandcamp.

“Wounded” is the second number off Tara Priya, a tale of, you guessed it, heartbreak. You can feel her anguish seeping through her sultry vocals: I find myself picturing a lonely women walking down a rainy city street, too early to want to be alone. The drumming is catchy, maintaining a nice beat that keeps you toe taping as you soak in the jazzy guitar."
–Chris Crowley, "Animals Eat Animals"
