It's an interesting experience filled with subtlety and mystique, like minimalism on tape where every sound and effect has its right place

happy anniversary to this album - it just feels like a november, this music. i dont know why, it feels so hopeless and desolate, yet there's this warm glow to it deep within, like a comradery in the despair of dead winter that is strangely life-affirming. maybe it's just me, as it soundtracked some old, strange, lonely times in my life as they unravelled into something tolerable. i guess i thought id share this here. the drummer my beloved btw

Probably the most ethereal and blissful album in existence. It's just so beautiful.

I don't want to listen to any other post-rock album after this one. Well, except for GY!BE, but they are fall onto a completely different territory in terms of feel and atmosphere. Laughing Stock is the epitome of post/art/experimental rock, pure bliss

It is perfect in every way. It could have been made a thousand years ago, yesterday, or a thousand years from now. I wish I could tell Mark how much his music means to me and everybody here.

Putting this in the same bucket as the later post-rock albums is making this album a huge disservice. It's an unparalleled, mystical musical vision. This is heaven on tape.

the album art is nearly on the same level as eden's, but i really wish the animals weren't arranged as earth's continents...

I'm not a huge post rock fan. But I feel like this is the best post rock album of all time. Never really got into the genre until i heard Myrrhman and knew I was in for a ride. A great album that doesn't stay its welcome too much like some other post rock albums, defiantly a solid beginning to end.

yeah honestly, other post-rock stuff usually just feels way too pretentious for me to listen to. this album is a cathartic experience

theneedledrop did a classic review of it on his channel: https://youtu.be/dCdMYNbK8Vs At the end/beginning of each year he goes over albums from the past that he loves.

Finally on Spotify....It seems something good has come out of Mark's most unfortunate demise. (before people start nagging, I do have the cd twice)

I love Mark Hollis's description of the drum parts on Myrrhman. "It sounds like the bloke setting his kit up, getting ready for the second track''.
