TJ Monterde is an award-winning Filipino singer-songwriter. With over a decade of his musical career, the Cagayan de Oro-born singer is hailed as one of the most streamed male OPM artists on Spotify, having released hits such as “Tulad Mo”, “Dating Tayo”, “Mahika”, “Ikaw At Ako” and “Palagi.”
A storyteller at heart, TJ Monterde weaves his listeners into his music with endearing tunes and heartfelt songwriting. His music is not just a collection of songs, but an intimate conversation with his audience. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences and common stories, TJ’s music is an anecdote to life–whether good or ugly, all made with sincerity.
Since his debut in 2013, TJ has released four albums and a collection of monumental singles, with a passion for bringing authenticity to creating good music. In 2023, he released what would become a viral hit, “Palagi.” This particular track garnered millions of streams on Spotify and emerged as one of the most prominent OPM songs of that year. It reached commercial success and eventually won Wish Pop Song of the Year at the 9th Wish Awards.
“Palagi” marked TJ’s spot in the Philippine music scene, connecting to new audiences and ultimately leading to a sold-out 2-day solo concert.
