Bergmann's music career got of to a quick start. As a young boy coming from the countryside he found himself in an odd situation in his first visit to the city. He and his friends did an Icelandic cover version of Always by Bon Jovi to enter a song competition, just for the fun of it, but little could they expect that a year later the song would be the most popular song in the country for over a month.
Following that hit he was later signed by the biggest Icelandic record company, Skífan (Now Sena), where he recorded his first album with his newly founded band, Daysleeper. Shortly after Daysleeper's second album the band split up and Bergmann decided that his next step in music would be something he would do properly and give more thought to.
So over the next three years he started writing with people from all over Europe. He went to Sweden, Scotland, England and some exotic places in Iceland (of course). After writing over 70 new songs he then went to the Sawmills studio in south of England and recorded his first solo album
