Biography
There are three artists sharing the name Surtsey;
The name is used by a British ambient/electronica group, a US americana trio from Missouri and a Russian post-rock band.
British: Surtsey are a duo specialising in symphonic electronic music formed in Bath in late 2007. Strings and piano feature prominently in their work but they also draw influences from glitch music and IDM, amongst other genres such as contempory classical and post-rock. Dave Court, the writer and keyboardist, also releases solo ambient work under the Surtsey moniker, which has seen a release with Portuguese label test tube and free releases downloadable through their myspace.

American: Surtsey are a rock/americana three-piece currently residing in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Formerly named 'The New Holiday', this was changed to Surtsey in October 2008.
Russian: Surtsey are a five-piece post-rock band from Saint-Petersburg. They formed in late 2008.
