SIck! I've been looking for this band for years, all I could remember was the yellow album with the bed, haha

For anyone checking out this band, here's some useful info! Michelle Darosa (The chick you hear singing from time to time) left the band some years ago on friendly terms and later former a band called Destry. About a year later, Straylight Run went on "Hiatas" which is a fancy word for breaking up, almost. John Nolan, the lead vocals, continued his solo work and returned to Taking Back Sunday. The rest of them either went back to Taking Back Sunday or dawdled wherever. Terms for Hiatas.... Financial problems.

I saw these guys at a free concert on my campus in 2009. I had loved them before that and was so excited to see them. I got to meet both John and Michelle. :)

Ok, John, do you realize now that going back to TBS was a really bad idea? Come back to us now.

a lot better than I thought they were. especially the self-titled. [2] I remember listening to "Existentialism on Prom Night" when I was 13ish, dismissing it as "meh", and only recently I gave the S/T CD a spin and loved it. Tension & The Terror is a fantastic track, a genre classic.

When I was a teenager I used to love "Tell All Your Friends" by TBS but now, I must admit, I really miss John Nolans voice. The Straylight Run has clearly proven that John is a better singer.

still don't really get why Adam sang. as if it wasn't bad enough that Straylight Run have .never. toured Europe (yes I'm aware that they've been in the UK a few times... grr. grr. grr)

I feel a little bit mean for never giving these the credit they deserved, I was always very much Team TBS and wasn't bothered by what I heard of it. BUT The newly reformed TBS played Existentialism On Prom Night at their gig in Birmingham and it was amazing! Downloaded the album and am mildly obsessed. Its beautiful!

John is currently touring the Uk with TBS, when they played Existentialism I was rather happy.

This band makes me feel sad, but it's a beautiful sadness. Their music is so peaceful...

I agree. I was super stoked to hear some Straylight Run in the lead up to the big gang fight on Sons of Anarchy. Good show, good song.

It has been a few years since I'd listened to them, but I got the urge recently and now I can't stop. They're a way better band, now that I'm not fifteen. I spent too much time listening to them in the context of the Long Island scene, and not hearing them simply for what they were.
