I smiled as soon as I heard that opening line, I recognized it instantly form Jay-z's song, Smile. Beautiful album, glad I came around.

It is 1976, and Wonder writes, arranges, produces and sings on this track that changed popular music - ripping the long format song out of the dieing clutches of overproduced Isaac Hayes, lazy Prog Rockers and sub-Pink Floyd bands, allowing for the locating of the harder underbelly that was shared almost unknowingly by rock, soul, folk and pop. Imperceptibly at first. Then came George Michael, John Legend, David Gray and others which mined the slow paced groove.
